This year’s Developer Summit was hosted by Nişantaşı University.

Nişantaşı University hosted this years’s Istanbul leg of Developer Summit, where all developments, innovations and changes about the software industry are discussed.

 The summit, organized for the second time this year by Devnot, a volunteer community, takes place in three different cities: Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. The Istanbul leg of the event, of which Izmir and Ankara legs were held in the past months, took place at the Maslak 1453 NeoTech Campus of Nişantaşı University. Students and academics also took part in the summit, which was mostly attended by employees in the software industry. 25 speakers in Developer Summit where 23 presentations were made; shared the latest developments on topics such as cloud technologies, IoT, artificial intelligence, machinelearning, devops, software quality and software testing.


Devnot Manager Uğur Umutluoğlu stated that, as Devnot, they have been carrying out activities that can support software developers and students in the software industry for 12 years and all of these activities are free.

While expressing that they have held the Developer Summit event for 2 years, Umutluoğlu said, "We are doing it in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. We have held Ankara and Izmir legs in the past months. We are also organizing our Istanbul event hosted by Nişantaşı University. Presentations in 3 different halls will mainly focus on software architectures, software development, cloud-based development, and cloud programming. In addition, there will be presentations on topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, which have become very popular recently. In this sense, we want to sign an event that the people in the sector may need and open their horizons."


While stating that the sector is progressing under the leadership of Silicon Valley in the USA and that it has progressed rapidly in countries such as England, Ireland, Israel, Germany, China, Japan, Umutluoğlu said, "As a country, we made a fast entrance to the subject of artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this regard, Turkey is performing too many activities in general. We can see one or two events almost every week in Istanbul. It is possible to say that we are close to the world average in this regard."


While expressing that today's technology can differentiate the professions of the future, Umutluoğlu finished his words, "Robots, smart devices, and devices that talk to each other over the cloud connected to the internet are now in our lives. Apart from this, we can see the use of Chatbot applications in call centers and production lines in the near future by talking and communicating with people. Moreover, I think that a serious job field can be formed in the field of human genetics planning. In this way, software alterations can be made in genes to correct people's diseases and some genetic disorders. Perhaps five years later, we will see genetics programmer-style advertisements on career sites."
