Ottoman Modernization Adventure with Emre Caner



On March 15, 2018, the symposium of "Love for Paris in the Ottoman Modernization Adventure with Emre Caner 1830-1914" was held at Nişantaşı University. During the event, the western world, especially the perception of Paris, was discussed through the eyes of the intellectuals in the Ottoman State. Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Head of the Department of History, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birsen Talay Keşoğlu also attended the symposium where history students showed great interest. After the speech, which lasted approximately 40 minutes, the students together with Emre Caner, who was the guest of the symposium, discussed the perspectives of the Ottoman intellectuals who went to study or work in Paris.
