The Campus with No “Hindrances”
Visited by 40.000 students with its newly-opened “Maslak 1453 Neotech Campus” during the university preference period, Nişantaşı University awarded a plaque to its students working for their university in this period. The Special Achievement Award was given to Burak Can Avcı, a walking-disabled student who graduated from the Department of Mobile Technologies at Nişantaşı University Vocational School.
Millions of students who wanted to choose the right university after LYS visited the universities one by one. Nişantaşı University welcomed 40 thousand students in its newly-opened Maslak 1453 Neotech Campus both with its academic staff and administrative units as well as its current students. Burak Can Avcı, a graduate student with a walking-disability who helped his university during the university preference period and his future friends with disabilities, was presented Special Achievement Award in the Nişantaşı University Maslak Campus, which aims to present a free space and educational conditions for the disabled students as well as its technological sub-structure.
All the students who, like Burak Avcı, extended a hand to us were presented a plaque and thanked by Levent Uysal, the Founder of Nişantaşı University, and Rector Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu as well as Secretary General Can Uysal.
“WE WERE CAREFUL WITH THE TECHNOLOGY IN DESIGNING THE CAMPUS AS WELL AS ITS BEING FREE OF HINDRANCES”
Levent Uysal, starting his speech by thanking Burak Can Avcı and all his students, stated that they created a free space in the newly opened campus, as well. Uysal added: “Nişantaşı University proved distinctive during the university preference period, too. All our friends who worked here made a great effort and welcomed 40 thousand students who visited our campus. While planning this campus, we were careful both with its technology and with its being free (unobstructed). For there is a place for all in our team and heart. I should deliver wholehearted thanks to Burak, who supported his friends very well by giving a great motivation here.”
“IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME TRAINING AS OTHER STUDENTS.”
Uysal expressed that they believe that the disabled students should receive the education offered to other students in the same environment and that they try to progress in this direction, and added: “Nişantaşı University has been specially designed for all our students to be educated at the same time. Our disabled friends are not different from others in our eyes. We give our education with full motivation to our disabled students as well as our other students in the same environment. We can provide education to all our students with disabilities in the same amphitheater since we have created the design of the campus based on technology. This is very important in that many educational institutions in Turkey educate the students with disabilities in different places. That’s why these students lose their motivation just in the beginning. It is for this very reason that we created such a campus by thinking over how we could offer this education in the best way. Nişantaşı is a university where people who are always in love and happiness work with enthusiasm. That’s why, as a university, we have always done the first by following the latest technologies in the world. However, we are also ready to share all our experience if there is one who has a thought of creating a free campus like ours.”Release date: 28.07.2017
