World Women’s Day Panel at Nişantaşı University
“Eliminating Inequality in Workplaces” was discussed during the panel hosted at Nişantaşı University as part of March 8th events. Women and girls need good education, improved access to knowledge, and must be included in innovation in order to select suitable occupations and become effective. The transformation process of occupations aims to train qualified individuals who can solve problems and use their imagination effectively today and in the future. During this process, the fact that women have a disadvantage makes efforts conducted by universities and all sectors even more important. Moderator Assoc. Prof. Göknur Akçadağ, President of European Women Rectors Association, Prof. Dr. Gülsün Sağlamer, Turkey Programs Director of UN Women Zeliha Ünaldı, Limak Foundation Board Chairman Ebru Özdemir, Turkish Win-BinYaprak Founder Melek Pulatkonak, and Murat Yeşildere from Yanındayız Foundation discussed good examples that promote teaching new occupations and changes in occupations, being aware of gender based discrimination faced by the youth and offering solutions, contribute to increasing female employment, and enhance occupational development of women and girls.
