12th IRCT Security Academy held by the International Relations Council of Turkey ends
12th IRCT Security Academy organized by International Relations Council of Turkey was held in Ferko Ilgaz Mountain Resort Hotel between 20 and 24 December 2017 this year.
In the event where representatives from different institutions, academicians and experts, who were active in establishment of Turkey’s security policy, various international relations and security topics such as Changing Agenda of Global Security, Terrorism and Security, Energy Safety, Turkey’s Security Policy in the Middle East, Terror and Safety were discussed.
Middle East Panel where issues regarding Middle East and its proximal zone were discussed and which was started with the presentation of IRCT General Secretary Prof. Dr. Sinem Akgül Açıkmeşe, drew attention of the participants in the Security Academy. The participants Prof. Dr. Gencer Özcan, Prof. Dr. Özlem Tür, Prof. Dr. Mitat Çelikpala and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Erkmen evaluated historical process of the region and safety problems.
Another topic of interest was relations between Turkey and NATO in the event. Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu, the Rector of Nişantaşı University, made a presentation titled “Transatlantic Safety and NATO”.
Ambassador Basat Öztürk, Deputy Under Secretary of Turkish Ministry of Defence, made in-depth evaluations about Turkey’s safety problems in the Security Academy.
NATO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, İstanbul Policy Centre (IPC), Centre For Turkish Studies (CTRS) and Nişantaşı University are among primary supporters of IRCT Security Academy.Release date: 27.12.2017
