Within the scope of the Social Work with Community course conducted by the Department of Social Work at Istanbul Nişantaşı University's Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, a social responsibility project was carried out under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilek Özsoy. The project was prepared with the participation of 2nd-year Social Work students Züleyha Can, Büşra Baştürk, Sude Nur Oruç, Kübra Özdemir, Dilara Güler, and Işıl Adıyaman, in cooperation with Kadıköy Kızılay, Üsküdar ÇEKOM, Istanbul Nişantaşı University, and the Department of Health, Culture and Sports.
The project process was carried out under the coordination of the project team students together with Kadıköy Kızılay team members Ayşe Hümeyra Saraç, Emine Konca, and ÇEKOM officer Özlem Akkuru. Within the scope of the project, the aim was for children staying at the children's home to become familiar with the university environment, gain information about university life, and develop awareness of the professional fields they aim for in the future.
As part of the event, a mask-painting activity was held together with the children, they were given a tour of different departments of the university, and various refreshments were offered. In addition, the children's questions about the university were answered by faculty members, social workers, psychologists, and project students, and interactive discussions were held on the children's thoughts and perceptions of university.
Held on May 14, 2026, the event was completed with the participation of 6 girls staying at the children's home. Through the activities carried out throughout the day, the aim was for the children to experience the university environment, gain information about educational life, and have their social interaction supported. The project process was carried out with a participatory and interaction-based approach.
