Nişantaşı University started the higher education with the 2010-2011 academic year, and established the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 2021 by making an important breakthrough in the field of health. Dr. Levent Uysal, the founder of Nişantaşı Education Foundation, conveyed his groundbreaking education understanding for the faculties that will give importance to early diagnosis and sustainable healthy living topics through robotic technologies, big data analysis and genetic research.
Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, whose academic and physical structures have been continuing for a long time, were established with the Official Gazette decision dated May 21, 2021. “Since the day the university was founded, we have been trying to bring our youth together with the education of the future within the framework of an innovative approach. With the Edu 5.0 model, we will bring the technology and human-based education model that we have applied in all our academic units to our Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. These two faculties are so important for us and our country that with a large-scale investment, we will also implement a 240-bed university hospital equipped with the latest technological facilities. In these faculties, where international scientific activities will be prioritized, academic structuring continues at full speed, and a project and clinic-based intensive curriculum will be implemented based on international university collaborations.
We must prevent illnesses before we get sick
Emphasizing the need for change in the field of global health with the pandemic period, Uysal continued his words: “The importance of the effective use of technology, biomedical structures and genetic data in medical education and therefore holistic medical education is increasing. Now we can reach a healthy life and protection from diseases. We can monitor which diseases can be acquired genetically or early warnings of the body with digital medicine approaches. Based on all these data, we can make personalized treatment and medication recommendations. This will mean a healthier and longer life for humanity in the long run. We aim to realize the future vision of the Global Health Sector and even to be one of the medical faculties that direct this vision with our advanced technological facilities and internationally experienced branch physicians.”
The aim is to educate future dentists who can offer personalized treatment
Continuing his words with the Faculty of Dentistry, Uysal said, “Our university has been providing practice-intensive training in Oral and Dental Health and Dental Prosthesis Technology programs since 2013. Our academic and clinical experience in this field contributed greatly to the establishment of our Faculty of Dentistry. Our pre-clinical laboratories with a capacity of 100 students and clinical laboratories with a capacity of 75 students are already active. We aim to provide the most innovative and qualified education in the field of Dentistry in our country. As part of our Edu 5.0 approach, we will provide digital dentistry education with opportunities such as 3D printing and new generation laser technologies. Especially the field of aesthetic dentistry can now offer a personalized application approach with 3D printer technology. Our aim is to train successful dentists who can reflect the technology of the day to their work and can offer personalized treatment.”
Dr. Levent Uysal concluded his words by saying "In order to ensure sustainable success in foreign students and international patients, which are two important elements of health studies and health sector, a foreign language-based curriculum based on global accreditations has been developed in these faculties" and he conveyed his best wishes for the faculties and the country.
