BLENDED INTENSIVE PROGRAM (BIP) APPLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERING AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT STUDENTS

WHAT IS A BLENDED INTENSIVE PROGRAM (BIP)?

Blended intensive programs alow higher education institutions to develop educational programs (curricula) and activities with physical and virtual components for their students, academic, and administrative staff. During these programs, grps of students or staff participate in short-term physical mobility integrated with a mandatory virtual component that facilitates collaborative online learning and teamwork. This virtual component brings participants together online to complete specific tasks/assignments synchronously and collaboratively, contributing to the program's learning outcomes.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Students applying for the Erasmus BIP Program must be enrolled in the Software Engineering and/or Business Management programs (bachelor's, master's, or doctoral levels) at Istanbul Nişantaşı University. The application is restricted to these two fields of study.

Information about the program:

The online part of the program is planned to be carried out between March 2025 and May 2025. The physical part will take place in Portugal between 19-23 May 2025, hosted by "Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya". Within the scope of the program, a 3 ECTS "Entrepreneurship in IT" workshop will be held. In addition to the workshop, various cultural activities, opening reception and closing events are also included in the program.

Application Requirements:

• For undergraduate/associate degree students, the GPA must be at least 2.20/4.00.

• For master’s and doctoral students, the GPA must be at least 3.00/4.00.

• Students must score 70 or above in the Erasmus English Proficiency Exam organized by the Foreign Languages Department for Erasmus Student Mobility (the exam will be conducted after the application).

Applications will be made through the Turkish National Agency Erasmus Application System (https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/giris?returnUrl=/) between Friday, December 13, 2024 - Friday, December 20, 2024.

Note: Applications made with incomplete or incorrect information and/or documents will be considered invalid.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION:

  • Student Certificate (signed and stamped, obtained from the Student Affairs Department or the relevant Institute Directorate)
  • Transcript/Grade Report (obtained from the Student Affairs Department or the relevant Institute Directorate)

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

  • Erasmus points are calculated by taking 50% of the foreign language score and 50% of the cumulative GPA.
  • For students who have previously participated in mobility under Erasmus within the same level of education, 10 points will be deducted from the total Erasmus score for each activity previously participated in (regardless of study or internship).

Selection criteria and weighted scores to be used for evaluation of applications:

In addition to the criteria specified in the table above:

5 points are awarded to students pursuing doctoral-level education.

3 points are awarded to students pursuing postgraduate-level education.

** Assessment in the mobility of the application, the application is made by the decision of the Unit Commission and in the mobility of the internship, by the decisionof the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Commission.

***In order to prioritize, the student must submit a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies regarding the protection, care or shelter in accordance with Law No. 2828 duringthe application period.

GRANTS AND THE QUOTAS

  • The total quota for the BIP Program is 5 participants, based on the grant alocated by the National Agency to our university.
  • For the 5-day physical mobility in Portugal, the total grant amount, including travel support, is 925 Euros (79*5=395 € per diem and 530 € travel support) within the framework of the Erasmus Practical Handbook.

NOT    : Students who are slcted but withdraw from Erasmus Mobility outside of the specified withdrawal period will have 10 points deducted from their total score for the next application period.
