ANNOUNCEMENTS

As Istanbul Nişantaşı University, the abstract proceedings book of the 1st National Interpersonal Communication Symposium, which we participated in as a stakeholder and which was hosted by Marmara University Faculty of Communication on May 29-30, 2025, has been published.

Throughout the symposium, the aim was to understand the effects of digital transformation on interpersonal communication, analyze how technologies such as artificial intelligence and social media transform communication practices, and discuss communication strategies aimed at protecting individuals’ areas of identity, culture, and freedom in this process.

At the symposium, in which we took part as a stakeholder, Dr. Lecturer Gülden DEMİR, one of the faculty members of our Department of New Media and Communication, served as a member of the organizing committee; Prof. Dr. Sıdıka Gözde DEDEOĞLU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülsün BOZKURT, and Dr. Lecturer Gülden DEMİR served as members of the scientific committee.

In addition, Research Assistants Burak DEMİRER and Fatma ARSLAN ESKİKÖY from our university’s Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Research Assistant Emine ÖZTÜRK TAŞAN from the Department of Journalism, and our graduate student Özge ULUSOY presented papers at the symposium. Dr. Lecturer Gülden DEMİR also served as the session chair in the panel titled Digital Media.
