Istanbul Nişantaşı University Vocational School of Health Services hosted a highly valuable event as part of “Family Week Activities.” The panel entitled “Field Experiences and Academic Perspectives on Social Work Practices,” organised by the Social Services Programme, was held with the participation of students and faculty members.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ, the panel brought together both academic perspectives and professional field experience. The speakers were:

Clinical Psychologist Osman Fatih Çıtak, Director of the Kağıthane Social Service Centre; Sociologist Esra Okumuş; and Lect. Alp Koçer, Head of the Social Services Programme. The speakers discussed social work practices within the framework of both field experience and academic perspectives.

Throughout the event, our students had the opportunity to hear directly from experts how their theoretical knowledge is applied in the field. The panel, during which valuable information was shared on different aspects of social work and the future of the profession, concluded with a question-and-answer session.
