The International Gusi Peace Prizes, awarded by the Philippines-based Gusi Peace Prize Foundation and caled "Asia's Nobel", have been announced. Dr. Levent Uysal, Founder of Nişantaşı Educational Foundation, received the award on behalf of Turkey, which is given to people who contribute to world peace with their work. Dr. Levent Uysal, who won the 19th International Gusi Peace Prize for Turkey this year, was deemed worthy of the award for his works that successfully synthesize education and technology and produce lasting values that contribute to world peace.

 

“Peace is created by educated societies”

Speaking at the award ceremony, Founder of Nişantaşı Education Foundation Dr. Levent Uysal emphasized the importance of education and the technologies offered to its use in ensuring and maintaining global peace. Dr. Levent Uysal stated that as Nişantaşı University, they support modern education opportunities with technological infrastructures and present Turkey's first technological campus, NeoTech Campus, to Turkish education, and said, “Peace is created by educated societies. The way to be peaceful and always remain so is provided by education. International education should become more widespread so that the peaceful mindset will increase at the same rate and permanence will be ensured.

Noting that they are trying to expand the opportunities for female students to receive a quality education with an egalitarian approach, Dr. Levent Uysal said, “Because, we say “human first” and we know that the most important being that raises humans is women. Believing that strong societies will first be formed by mothers who raise human beings, we have established a support mechanism that starts with girls and extends to mothers. In this process, we want to establish a solid unity and determine the roadmap for living happily together.”

 

“NeoTech Campus is a model to the world”

Stating that "Ecology" is an important element in their goal of being beneficial to the world and humanity, Dr. Levent Uysal said, "All of our campuses are livable and consist of organic structures supported by "green energy". Considering future generations, we have many patent studies on the construction of recycled energy, especialy in our engineering faculties. We are trying to present the value we will derive from this to Turkey, al states and humanity without any compensation.” said.

Noting that they focus on improving the use of technology in education processes, Dr. Levent Uysal said, “We believe that the stronger we are in technology and the more we can educate young people at equal standards with the world, the more beneficial we will be to both Turkey and the world. For this reason, we have created an educational structure with ultra-modern laboratories and classrooms with the name of “NeoTech” on our campus. This sets a model for both Turkey and the world.”

Dr. Levent Uysal said "I think we can take world peace even further with development in education and cultural interaction", and concluded his speech with the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, "Peace at home, peace in the world".
