5th Gender Equality-Sensitive Mentorship Program Concludes in Collaboration with BPW Istanbul and Istanbul Nişantaşı University

The 5th Gender Equality-Sensitive Mentorship Program, organized in collaboration with Istanbul Nişantaşı University's Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center and the Business and Professional Women’s Association (BPW Istanbul), successfully concluded with great interest at the NeoTech Campus.

The program commenced with speeches by the Head of the History Department, Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ, and our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer Yürür. Prof. Dr. Akçadağ addressed the historical significance of the concept of "inequality," explaining how stereotypes in recent centuries have brought it into our lives. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yürür emphasized the university's commitment to women's employment and highlighted the mentorship program’s role in contributing to the career journeys of young women and men. BPW Istanbul Chair Müjde Çetin shared insights into the program’s gender-equality-focused approach, its successful outcomes to date, and its contribution to expanding international collaborations and influence.

During the event, a protocol was signed between Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer Yürür, BPW Istanbul Founding President Selda Alemdar Dinçer, and Chair Müjde Çetin. Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ delivered a speech on the historical roots of inequality, drawing attention to the struggles for women's rights during the War of Independence and the Republican era. Board Member Ceylan Güzekin highlighted the positive impact of increasing women's representation in the business world on corporate success and social development.

The program concluded with mentors from previous cohorts sharing their experiences and the announcement of participants slcted for the 5th mentorship program cohort.
