Jointly organized by Istanbul Nişantaşı University, Trakya University, and Bursa Uludağ University, the 9th International Economy Research and Financial Markets Congress (IERFM 2025) was successfully held between May 8–10 at Bursa Hilton Hotel. Held for the ninth time, the congress reaffirmed its academic continuity and institutional impact. This year, the congress focused on the main theme of “Digital Economy: Green Innovation and a Sustainable Future,” addressing key structural transformation areas of our time.

A total of 109 academic papers were presented at the congress, and two special investment sessions featuring industry professionals offered discussions on current market dynamics and investment strategies. A hands-on econometrics training session was also organized for participants. The opening session, moderated by Dr. Barış Esen, Corporate Communications Director at Yatırım Finansman, featured speeches from Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu (Rector of Istanbul Nişantaşı University), Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz (Rector of Bursa Uludağ University), and Prof. Dr. Burak Arzova (Faculty Member at Marmara University).

The closing session took place on Friday, May 9, under the title “Global and Turkish Economic Developments and Trends.” During this session, Prof. Dr. Erhan Aslanoğlu, Prof. Dr. Zahide Onaran, and Dr. Nuri Sevgen shared their insights on current economic developments, with the discussion moderated by Mine Uzun, Corporate Communications Director at İnfo Yatırım.

Concluding with a city tour of Bursa, IERFM 2025 provided a qualified academic platform that brought together the fields of academia and finance around the themes of digital economy, green innovation, and sustainable development.
