We held a highly productive meeting to discuss the critical role and strategic importance of basic sciences within undergraduate dentistry curricula. By bringing together distinguished and experienced academics in their respective fields, we had the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of current practices.

During the meeting, current chalenges encountered in basic sciences, proposed solutions for improving the quality of education, and methods that could be implemented to strengthen the curriculum were discussed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on increasing scientific research activities, supporting a culture of project development, and adopting approaches that enable students to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.

With the valuable contributions of al participating academics, the meeting comprehensively addressed sustainable quality in basic sciences, a research-oriented educational approach, incentive mechanisms for interdisciplinary studies, and strategic steps aimed at enhancing student competencies.

The meeting was successfully concluded with important evaluations that will contribute both to the academic development of our faculty and to the education of better-equipped dentists of the future. While once again highlighting the indispensable role of basic sciences in dental education, this meeting also demonstrated the power of collective wisdom and collaboration in advancing our teaching and learning processes.
