Organized in collaboration between Harran University and Istanbul Nişantaşı University, the “Art Therapy Meets Archaeology: Transformation Experience Workshop” took place in Karahantepe. The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Devran Tan from Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Psychology Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Evran, Head of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department at Harran University’s Faculty of Education, and Assoc. The project aimed to establish a meaningful interaction between students and the Neolithic structures of Karahantepe. By fostering creativity, imagination, social engagement, and learning, the workshop provided participants with the opportunity to uncover the stories of Karahantepe’s archaeological heritage while reflecting on its impact on their own perspectives.
Forty-five students, visiting Karahantepe for the first time, engaged with the site through their questions, curiosity, and creative energy, resulting in an unforgettable transformation experience. This project offered a unique educational journey, bridging the fields of archaeology and art therapy.
