The Artificial Intelligence Summit began with the opening speech by Dr. Tuğba Dayıoğlu, Head of the Management Information Systems Department. In her speech, Dr. Dayıoğlu highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in key fields such as education, healthcare, finance, and art, while emphasizing its contributions to teamwork, organizational skills, and leadership development.
The event continued with a speech by Arda Kaplan, President of the Management Information Systems Club. Kaplan shared the objectives and goals of the summit, stressing the importance of gaining knowledge and experience through such events.
Betül Göymen, Brand Manager of Curiosity Technology, and Can Göymen, the company’s CEO, explored the historical development of artificial intelligence and introduced their projects, from ZekAI to SezAI. Highlighting their collaborations with OpenAI, they discussed the opportunities and risks posed by AI and introduced solutions such as Trusty Social, developed to combat fake content. The presentation also detailed ethical responsibilities and the transformative impact of technological advancements.
Enes Aydın, BTK Academy and Udemy Instructor and Software Developer, explained AI's progression toward Industry 5.0 and the transition to a data-driven world. He emphasized the lack of Turkish data, pointing out that the cultural adaptation of AI relies on the diversity of data sources. Aydın also discussed AI’s role in career development and emphasized the importance of effective prompt engineering.
Yasin Usta, IT Director at HD Holding, highlighted the potential of AI to enhance speed and efficiency in businesses, while underscoring that humans remain the most valuable resource. Usta addressed AI's shortcomings in decision-making processes and stressed the importance of using technology responsibly while avoiding populism.
Ergi Saner, General Manager of NomuPlay, described AI as an ongoing journey. He noted that OpenAI's data processing is now limited to al internet data and emphasized that AI can evolve to think logicaly, much like humans. Saner pointed out that quantum technology would be a key focus in the AI field by 2025. He also stressed the critical role of data transfer in the success of start-ups and argued that AI would not replace humans but instead empower those who use it effectively to achieve success.
Can Tekin Ertekin, Founder of Omu Bumu App, stated that China's success in AI stems from the lack of regulations and the availability of massive data flows. However, he warned that the absence of regulations could pose a risk for AI over time. Ertekin also highlighted that AI trained on biased data could produce biased outcomes and noted its growing position as an authoritative entity.
The Artificial Intelligence Summit provided participants with a comprehensive perspective on AI's role across various sectors, its future developments, and the ethical responsibilities surrounding its use, featuring insights from leading experts in the field.
