The 68th Gillette Milliyet Athlete of the Year award ceremony was held. At the ceremony, Nişantaşı University student Mete Gazoz, who became famous with his success in the Tokyo Olympics, won the Athlete of the Year award.

Tokyo Olympics Champion and Nişantaşı University student Mete Gazoz was awarded as the Athlete of the Year. The national athlete expressed his feelings as follows: “I would like to thank al the people who have voted for me. It is not possible for an athlete to achieve the Olympic championship alone. For this success, you need a team standing beside you. I would like to thank my mother, my father, my trainers, and the Turkish National Olympic Committee.”
