The Avitalks’24 event, organized by Istanbul Nişantaşı University Aviation Club, kicked off with an opening speech by Aviation Club President and Event Coordinator Mustafa Berk Orhan. Highlighting that aviation lies at the core of courage, innovation, and dreams, Orhan emphasized how this dynamic field is constantly propelled forward by the contributions of young minds. He also stated that the event aims to guide participants with inspiring success stories.

HTK Training Manager and STDI Instructor Lecturer Ramazan Koçar drew attention to the rapid developments in the aviation sector. He noted that graduates of Istanbul Nişantaşı University have started taking active roles in the industry and stressed the importance of events like these in bringing aviation the recognition it deserves. Koçar further highlighted that aviation is a high-risk sector, whr the primary rule is achieving “zero” loss of life and property.

The event continued with a panel moderated by Dr. Duygu Uludağ, featuring Erdem Erdem, Chief Technician at Turkish Airlines Technic Inc., and Abdülkadir Alşal, Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor at Turkish Airlines Flight Academy. Both shared valuable insights into career paths and chalenges in the aviation sector.

Erdem shared his experiences about starting a career as a technician and emphasized the critical importance of occupational safety in the sector. Alşal, on the other hand, discussed his transition from military aviation to civil aviation and offered advice to aspiring pilots.

The event concluded successfully with a Q&A session and a plaque presentation ceremony.
