On May 21, 2025, students from Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Department of Capital Markets and Department of Finance and Banking visited Borsa Istanbul as part of a technical field trip aimed at reinforcing applied finance education.

The program began with an orientation in the foyer area, whr opening gong ceremonies are held for companies on their first trading day after going public. Students were briefed on the IPO process and the symbolic significance of such ceremonies for investor confidence.

Following this, a detailed presentation on Borsa Istanbul and its markets was delivered in the conference hal by Mr. Alper Ayden, Chief Expert of Borsa Istanbul. The session provided valuable insights into the structure, functions, and market operations of the exchange.

Next, Dr. Taşkın Subaşı, a faculty member of the university and a former Borsa expert at the Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB), introduced the manual trading board system used during the early years of the exchange. Students had the opportunity to examine the historical trading boards and understand how trading operations were conducted before digitalization.

The visit continued with a tour of the Equity Market Trading Hal, whr students were informed about the current computerized trading system. The program concluded with a tour of the Borsa Istanbul Museum, showcasing the historical evolution of capital markets in Turkey through archival materials and displays.
