Communication and Design Students Visit the “The Story Takes Place in Istanbul” Exhibition
Second-year students from the Department of Communication and Design at Istanbul Nisantasi University visited the exhibition “The Story Takes Place in Istanbul” at Meşher Galery under the guidance of Koray Dinç and Yalçın Taş.
Focusing on representations of Istanbul in Western literature from the 16th century to the present day, the exhibition offered students the opportunity to explore a diverse collection ranging from graphic novels and science fiction to spy stories and fantasy narratives.
Centered around approximately 300 books from the Ömer Koç Collection, the exhibition provided insights into rare manuscripts, first editions, signed books, and visual materials from different historical periods.
The visit enabled students to examine how Istanbul has been portrayed through various literary genres and artistic perspectives, enriching their understanding of cultural narratives and visual storytelling.
As the Department of Communication and Design, we would like to thank Meşher Galery for hosting this valuable cultural experience and for their hospitality and contributions to the educational development of our students.
