Prof. Dr. Umut Davut Başoğlu, Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, attended the Council of Deans of Faculties of Sports Sciences (SPORDEK) Meeting hosted by Gazi University.

The meeting brought together administrators from faculties of sports sciences and schools of physical education and sports across Türkiye. Current developments in the field of sports sciences, quality processes in higher education, the improvement of educational programmes, academic collaborations and future joint initiatives were discussed.

At the opening of the widely attended meeting, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal, Rector of Gazi University, and Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Cicioğlu, President of SPORDEK and Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Gazi University, addressed the participants. As part of the programme, evaluations were made regarding the development of the field of sports sciences, and views were exchanged on matters that would strengthen cooperation between universities.

The council meeting, which was also attended by Prof. Dr. Umut Davut Başoğlu, Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, made significant contributions to developing a shared vision in the field of sports sciences and strengthening the understanding of high-quality education in higher education.

Our university continues to take an active role in national academic platforms in the field of sports sciences, support knowledge sharing and develop academic collaborations.
