In collaboration with the Istanbul Nişantaşı University Social Contribution Coordinatorship, INU-CELT, and Kağıthane Social Service Center, an awareness program titled "Foster Family Introduction and Social Work Practice Models" for academic staff was held on July 21, 2026.

During the program, Kağıthane Social Service Center Director Psychologist Osman Fatih Çıtak and Sociologist Esra Okumuş discussed the importance of foster family services, application and evaluation processes, fundamental differences between foster care and adoption, the importance of children growing up in a safe and supportive family environment, and current practices in the field of social work.

Participants had the opportunity to gain comprehensive information about the legal processes, practical examples, and field experiences related to the foster family model. The program concluded interactively with questions and contributions from the participants. The program aimed to increase the knowledge and awareness of academic staff regarding the foster family model, share current approaches to social work practices, and strengthen the sense of social responsibility.
