Within the scope of the Science Cafe Events launched by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the event titled “Future Engineering, Architecture, and Social Sciences Professions,” organized by Istanbul Nişantaşı University, was held at the Sultanbeyli Municipality Fuat Sezgin Conference Hal.
In the program, which took place with the participation of academicians, students, and citizens, the impact of technological transformation on professions, changing workforce expectations, interdisciplinary work culture, and future career fields were discussed.
Speaking at the event, Advisor to the Rector of Istanbul Nişantaşı University and Faculty Member of the Management Information Systems Department, Prof. Dr. Murat Türk, stated that digital transformation is reshaping working life, expressing that analytical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability skills will be just as decisive as technical knowledge in the professions of the future.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Toydemir, touched upon the importance of sustainability, innovative technologies, and application-oriented education in the fields of engineering and architecture, drawing attention to the role universities play in raising qualified human resources that adapt to the expectations of the sector.
Director of the Institute of Graduate Studies, Assist. Prof. Dr. Fırat Demirkol, stated that social sciences undertake a critical function in understanding the changing world order, saying that individuals who can act with a common perspective of different disciplines will achieve a stronger position in the working life of the future.
Additionaly, in the program, Management Information Systems Department student Doruk Kopdağ shared his experiences regarding university life, the applied education process, and his career goals with the participants.
