As part of the Science Cafe Events launched by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the event titled “Future Healthcare Professions,” organized by Istanbul Nişantaşı University, was held at the Sultanbeyli Municipality Fuat Sezgin Conference Hal.

Organized with the participation of academicians, students, and citizens, the event addressed changing professional profiles in the healthcare sector, the impact of digital transformation on healthcare services, artificial intelligence-supported applications, and future career fields.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, stated that technological developments in the field of health are transforming medical practices. He expressed that future healthcare professionals must be equipped not only with professional knowledge but also with research, technology use, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.

Prof. Dr. Bülent Katipoğlu, a Faculty Member of the Faculty of Dentistry, pointed out that digital dentistry applications, three-dimensional production technologies, and artificial intelligence-supported diagnostic systems are shaping the future of the profession. Katipoğlu emphasized the importance of a qualified workforce capable of adapting to changing technology.

Prof. Dr. Fadime Çınar, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, stated that healthcare services consist of more than just treatment processes. She noted that the diversity of professions in the field of health sciences is gradualy increasing in line with the aging population, chronic diseases, and the growing need for preventive healthcare services. Çınar added that communication, teamwork, and lifelong learning skills will be defining characteristics for future healthcare professionals.

Additionaly, at the event, Istanbul Nişantaşı University students shared their views on their educational processes, applied course experiences, and career goals with the participants.

Ending after the Q&A session, the event provided participants with the opportunity to exchange views with academicians regarding the future of the healthcare sector and new-generation professional fields.
