The Unileague Taekwondo Turkish Championship, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation between April 19–22, 2026, and hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, has concluded. In this prestigious organization, attended by a total of 516 athletes, including 245 men and 271 women from 91 universities, Istanbul Nişantaşı University left its mark.
Our Men's Taekwondo Team, which displayed an outstanding performance and a high fighting spirit in the championship, achieved great success by placing Second in Turkey. In addition to this great success as a team, our athletes also carried our university to the top ranks of the podium in individual categories, collecting medals.
Our individual rankings achieved in the championship and the department information of our athletes who brought these successes to our university are as follows:

• 63 kg Category - Gold Medal (Champion of Turkey): Serdar İlhan – School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO), Department of Coaching Education
• 68 kg Category - Gold Medal (Champion of Turkey): Eren Özdemir – Faculty of Art and Design (STF), Department of Graphic Design
• 49 kg Women's Category - Silver Medal (Second in Turkey): Canan Gündüz – School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO), Department of Coaching Education
• 87 kg Men's Category - Bronze Medal (Third in Turkey): Berdan Ali Fırat – School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO), Department of Sports Management
• 73 kg Women's Category - Bronze Medal (Third in Turkey): Zehra Begüm Kavukcuoğlu – School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO), Department of Sports Management

This high performance, disciplined work, and sportsmanlike competition shown by our athletes have once again revealed our university's strong infrastructure in the field of sports and the value it places on sports.
