As part of an event organised for the students of the School of Physical Education and Sports, Emre Ergül, Managing Editor of Milliyet Newspaper, met with our students in a talk entitled “Sports Media in the Sports Economy: From Traditional Media to Digital Media”, moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Faruk Salih Şeker. During the event, the transformation of the media from past to present was discussed, with particular emphasis on the changes that have occurred in the sports economy as a result of the digitalisation of sports media. The effects of the transition from traditional media to digital platforms on sports journalism, content production, methods of reaching target audiences and the economic structure were shared with the participants. With the contributions of Emre Ergül, who has extensive experience in the field of sports media, our students had the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the sector’s current dynamics and develop different perspectives. In this respect, the event was a productive gathering that contributed to both the academic and professional development of our students.
