The professional development event organised by the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences was held with the participation of Speech and Language Therapy Specialist Göknur VATANSEVER.

During the event, typical and atypical patterns in speech and language development, the importance of the early diagnosis of developmental disorders, and the foundations of therapeutic approaches were discussed. Specialist VATANSEVER emphasised that speech and language therapists play a critical role not only in individual intervention but also in team-based practices. She explained their duties and responsibilities across a broad spectrum, from early childhood to adulthood, through various examples.

The presentation also highlighted the roles of speech and language therapists within multidisciplinary teams, while examples of the profession’s applications in both clinical and educational settings were shared.

Moderated by Lect. Ali IŞIKTAŞ, the event made a valuable contribution to strengthening the students’ academic knowledge and broadening their professional perspectives.
