The Finance Summit held at Istanbul Nişantaşı University provided participants with a multidimensional perspective on sustainable economy and career opportunities. The event commenced with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Selma Karatepe, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, who emphasized the importance of efficient use of resources and environmental responsibility within the framework of a sustainable economy.
Following this, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Yozgat highlighted the critical role of financial literacy in ensuring individual welfare and economic sustainability, underlining that making conscious financial decisions is an essential necessity in today’s world.
One of the summit’s most noteworthy speeches was delivered by Murat Oktay, Former Press Advisor at the Presidential Finance Office. Oktay underlined that the purpose of the summit was not only to discuss financial concepts but also to collectively consider how to build a more sustainable future. Stressing that sustainability begins not only with environmental awareness but also with economic consciousness, he emphasized the importance of saving, using resources efficiently, and making informed investments—both for personal success and societal well-being. He encouraged young people to lead with both economic insight and environmental sensitivity, stating that sustainability is not a choice but a responsibility.
Other distinguished speakers shared significant insights into financial literacy, digitalization, and transformations in the labor market. Dr. Gökhan Büyükşengür, Education Coordinator of the Turkish Capital Markets Association, addressed the advantages of internationaly recognized financial certifications in global competition. Board Member of FODER, Işıl Bük, shared online and free financial education programs that address diverse audiences. Financial Management Consultant Dr. İbrahim Can pointed out that traditional financial models are not sufficiently aligned with sustainable development goals and proposed atrnative approaches. Mesut Kurt, Investment Advisory Director at Gedik Investment, emphasized that the growing awareness of personal investment is diversifying career opportunities. Deniz Uyan Ay, Deputy General Manager of Gelecek Varlık Yönetimi, highlighted the importance of transforming financial knowledge into everyday practice. Arzu Gökduman, Human Resources Director of PASHA Bank, noted that the banking sector is evolving into a multidisciplinary structure and offers new career opportunities in areas such as digital banking and sustainability.
