Istanbul Nişantaşı University held comprehensive internal stakeholder meetings within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences to elevate educational quality standards to the highest level. The meetings, which took place on December 26-27, 2024, were organized with the support of the Rectorate and the Quality Coordination Office and were attended by department heads, deputy department heads, faculty members, and teaching assistants. The meetings were hosted by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Selma Karatepe, and attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer Yürür, vice deans, and representatives from the Quality Coordination Office.

During the meetings, the faculty’s educational and administrative processes were evaluated, and key topics related to quality studies were discussed in detail. These included curriculum updates, the expansion of student-centered teaching models, and the enhancement of academic process efficiency. Additionaly, the current status of departments within the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) and progress plans for accreditation processes were reviewed. The role of academic staff in quality assurance mechanisms was emphasized, and areas for improvement were identified based on internal stakeholders' feedback. Faculty members and assistants provided evaluations and suggestions on relevant topics and processes.

The meetings covered the Economics and Finance, English Translation and Interpreting, English Language and Literature, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology and Social Work, and Management Information Systems departments. Discussions focused on aligning curriculum content with industry expectations, increasing interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and evaluating student feedback. Additionaly, necessary support mechanisms were determined for departments applying for accreditation, and faculty-wide strategies were developed to enhance quality standards.

Commitment to Strengthening Quality Processes

In her speeches during the meetings, Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu emphasized the university’s quality-focused academic vision, stating that sustainable excellence can only be achieved through a strong quality culture. She highlighted the importance of faculties actively participating in this process, stressing that academic units’ contributions to quality processes directly impact both student experience and institutional development.

The meetings concluded with plans for concrete steps to ensure continuous improvement in educational and academic processes, based on current situation analyses of the faculty.

Held in alignment with the university’s strategic goals, these internal stakeholder meetings reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing educational quality. It was emphasized that efforts to strengthen quality processes across the faculty would continue.
