The "2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards" organized by Higher Education Council have been presented to the universities. İstanbul Nişantaşı University, which had previously received the Orange Flag for Spatial Accessibility, took the Green Flag for Access to Education this year.

The winners of the 2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards, organized to encourage the creation of a barrier-free ecosystem in universities, were announced by the President of Higher Education Council, Erol Özvar, at a ceremony held at Higher Education Council.

Özvar stated that the Barrier-Free University Awards are given in two categories: the Barrier-Free University Flags and the Barrier-Free Program Orders, and that the Barrier-Free University Flags were evaluated in three categories as follows: "spatial accessibility (orange flag)", "accessibility in education (green flag)" and "accessibility in socio-cultural activities (blue flag).
