Stanford University has announced the academics who are in the top 2% of scientists in the world. 2 academicians from Nişantaşı University achieved great success and took place in the top 2% of the world with their contributions to their fields. The list of 190,000 scientists of the top 2% of scientists in 22 majors and 176 sub-disciplines in the world was published in the Elsevier database by Stanford University scientists.
While creating the list, various international criteria were used. The number of qualified publications, the impact value of the journal in which the articles were published, the number of citations to the studies, the h-index, the hm-index, the number of patents, the number of first-name and single-name articles, the number of cited articles, and the impact value of the journal in which the cited article was published were among these criteria.
In the list created by considering only the "Studies of the Year 2020" of scientists, 190,063 scientists who were in the 2% ranking were listed. 1,150 academics from Turkey were able to enter the ranking. Nişantaşı University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Faculty Member Prof. İlhami ÇOLAK (10%) and Mechanical Engineering Faculty Member Prof. Yusuf ŞAHİN (23.38%) achieved great success by being included in the "World's Most Influential Scientists" list.
