Nişantaşı University Academics Represented Türkiye at the International Health Sciences Congress Held in Uzbekistan

The IMVHSC 10th International Medical, Veterinary and Health Sciences Congress was held between 17–19 November 2025 in Fergana, Uzbekistan, bringing together scientists and academics from 10 different countries. Türkiye was represented by 36 academics, including two distinguished faculty members from Istanbul Nişantaşı University: Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek.

Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu Served as Scientific Chair

On 18 November, our Vice Rector and faculty member Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu chaired the Scientific Session of Hal–1. She led a series of presentations in cardiology, anesthesiology, family medicine, and public health, contributing to a productive academic discussion environment.

Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek Spoke at the General Session

During the opening program, the Dean of our Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek, took the stage as one of the keynote speakers representing Türkiye. He presented his study titled:
“Effects of E-Cigarettes & Tobacco on Heart Rate Variability Parameters: A Case-Control Study. Which One is Worse?”
His research drew significant attention as it examined the comparative cardiovascular effects of tobacco and electronic cigarette use.

Special Statements on Uzbekistan National Television

Both academics appeared on Uzbekistan National TV, whr they discussed:

  • Türkiye’s strong medical education infrastructure,
  • Nişantaşı University’s academic expertise in health sciences,
  • Student and academic exchange opportunities between Türkiye and Uzbekistan,
  • Joint medical education, curriculum sharing, and academic integration.

They emphasized that such collaborations will create new opportunities in health sciences for both countries.

Strengthening Academic Bridges Between the Two Countries

On 19 November, bilateral cooperation protocols were signed with the aim of enhancing academic partnerships. Nişantaşı University expressed its readiness to collaborate in joint research, exchange programs, and curriculum development in health sciences.

This important participation strengthened our university’s international visibility, contributed to the global dissemination of our academic work, and further enhanced the academic ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
