İstanbul Nişantaşı University Foreign Languages Department participated in the 7th TESOL Türkiye International ELT Conference, hosted by TED Bodrum College in Muğla on 15–16 May under the theme “Mediation in ELT for a Connected World.” The conference brought together ELT professionals, researchers, and educators to exchange ideas and discuss current perspectives in language teaching and learning.

A team from our department contributed to the conference with three research papers focusing on mediation, assessment, and collaborative communication in ELT. The papers presented during the conference included “Translanguaging as a Mediation Tool: Supporting B2 Academic Writing” presented by Siavash Bakhtshirin and Parisa Naini, “Integrating Discourse Markers into Speaking Assessment Rubrics: A Comparative Analysis of Rating Consistency at the B1 Level” presented by Zarrin Khatibi and Büşranur Alkanat, and “From Breakdown to Breakthrough: Dialogic Mediation in B1 Collaborative Speaking” presented by Siavash Bakhtshirin and Azra Nihan Eke.
