Asst. Prof. Dr. Eylem Ejder, a faculty member of the Department of Performing Arts at the Conservatory, participated as a speaker in the event entitled “Performance and Social Imaginary”, held on 25.04.2026 at the invitation and under the hosting of Perform Istanbul. In her talk, Ejder examined the relationship between performance and the social imaginary within the framework of the concept of “recycling dramaturgies”, which she developed in her doctoral research, and shared examples from her walking-based artistic research.

The talk opened up a discussion on what kind of knowledge is produced through walking, writing and creating performances in spaces shaped by experiences of displacement, destruction and loss. Ejder proposed an open-ended, relational and process-oriented approach to dramaturgy that incorporates the body, memory and experience into the process and adopts entanglement and hybridity as methods.
