Organized by the Istanbul Nişantaşı University School of Applied Sciences, the panel titled “Prehistoric Tourism in Turkey: New Routes and Cultural Combinations” took place with student presentations and contributions from expert guests. While the project director Dr. Nurcan Yalman provided a general framework, students Batuhan Kalkan, Bayram Ali Çevik, Yiğit Şahin, and Zehra Sarı shared their analyses.
The event focused on Şanlıurfa as the first study region. Haluk Yurtkuran, founder of Oasis Travel, and Erdal Çeri, founder of Çeri Tourism, shared their sectoral experiences. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilistan Shipman, Head of the Gastronomy Department, evaluated the contribution of gastronomy to prehistoric tourism.
The panel addressed topics such as the integration of cultural heritage into tourism and strategies for creating new routes. We thank al our speakers and students who contributed to the event.
