A cooperation protocol has been signed between Istanbul Nişantaşı University and the University of Bucharest—one of Romania’s most prestigious higher education institutions—for the administration of CEFR B1-level Romanian Language Proficiency Exams in Türkiye.

Within the scope of this agreement, candidates who wish to obtain an official Romanian language proficiency certificate will now be able to take the exams at Istanbul Nişantaşı University campuses, under the authorization of the University of Bucharest.

The exams will be conducted by academic commissions authorized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Bucharest; evaluation, certification, and result verification processes will also be carried out directly by the University of Bucharest.

Certificates obtained through this program will be recognized as valid official language proficiency documents for al academic, professional, and governmental procedures in Romania.

This cooperation represents a significant step toward strengthening academic and cultural relations between Türkiye and Romania.

The first exam sessions are planned to be held at Istanbul Nişantaşı University campuses in November – December 2025.
