As the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, we organized a technical visit to the Silivri Seymen Biomass Energy Production Facility operated by İstanbul Enerji A.Ş., together with our students. Located in the area whr household waste from the European Side is stored, this facility not only produces energy but also contributes to environmental sustainability by capturing methane gas before it is released into the atmosphere. During the visit, we received detailed information about the processes of gas conditioning, storage, and energy conversion. This visit provided our students with the opportunity to observe energy production, process management, automation, and sustainability practices on-site and to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
