ISTANBUL – The “National Technology Summit – The Future of the Domestic Defense Ecosystem,” organized in cooperation with the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (TEKNOFEST) and Istanbul Nisantasi University under the coordination of the Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS), was held with strong participation.
Receiving over 2,000 applications, the summit attracted great interest from academics, industry representatives, students, as well as members of the TEKNOFEST Club and other student organizations. The event served as a significant platform bringing together youth and the defense industry.
The opening speeches were delivered by TEKNOFEST Board Member Muhammet Saymaz, TEKNOFEST Istanbul Coordinator Erkut Kalkavan, and the Rector of Istanbul Nisantasi University, Prof. Dr. Aysegul Komsuoglu Citipitioğlu.
Moderated by Prof. Dr. Murat Turk, the panel featured Prof. Dr. Ugur Yozgat, Baris Elcin (TEI), Tamer Ayar (SSB), Serdar Gokdemir (TUSAŞ), and Dogan Varli (HAVELSAN). The event was hosted by Dr. Burcu Kurtis.
The summit addressed the development of Türkiye’s domestic defense ecosystem, technological advancements, and career opportunities in the sector. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with leading industry representatives.
In addition to academic sessions, the event was enriched with cultural performances including Mehter band shows, Caucasian dances, and traditional folk performances. Plaques were presented to speakers at the end of the program.
Armored vehicles such as Kirpi-2 and Kobra-2 were also exhibited at the venue, providing students with hands-on learning experiences through technical briefings by military personnel.
