Representing Istanbul Nişantaşı University, Director of the International Office, Dr. Hazar Dördüncü, attended the THE University Impact Forum held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The forum was organized in collaboration with Sumgayit State University and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. This significant event, held in the lead-up to Azerbaijan’s COP29 in November, addressed how climate change impacts the daily lives of individuals, bringing together a wide range of participants.

The forum provided a platform for civil society organizations, international university representatives, local and foreign policymakers, and industry leaders to come together and foster a collective understanding of combating climate change. Panels focused on SDG 13, “Climate Action,” whr the panelists conveyed the goals of accelerated climate action to the delegates.

Dr. Hazar Dördüncü, representing İstanbul Nişantaşı University, emphasized the responsibilities of universities and other stakeholders in the fight against climate change. The forum stood out as an essential preparatory step for climate action ahead of the upcoming COP29 in November.
