The “Tourism Cooperation and Future Summit,” organized in collaboration with Istanbul Nisantasi University Vocational School and the International MICE Industry Association (I-MICE), was held at the NeoTech Campus. The summit evaluated the use of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector, sustainability practices, and Turkey’s place in MICE tourism.
The opening speeches of the summit were delivered by Istanbul Nisantasi University Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu and industry representatives. In her speech, Çıtıpıtıoğlu emphasized the importance of university-industry collaborations, stating that sustainability, digitalization, and qualified human resources will be decisive in the future of tourism.
Işıl Özmen, President of the International MICE Industry Association (I-MICE), stated that the association is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Özmen expressed that tourism is not merely about travel and accommodation activities, but is going through a new transformation process focused on technology, sustainability, and experience.
During the sessions held at the summit, the use areas of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector, sustainable tourism practices, and Turkey's position in international MICE tourism were evaluated. At the event attended by industry representatives, academics, and students, views and suggestions regarding the future of tourism were shared.
In the B2B meeting areas established within the scope of the program, hotel managers, travel agencies, and industry representatives came together. New collaborations and joint work opportunities were discussed during the meetings.
Students attending the summit also had the opportunity to meet with industry professionals and enhance their professional experiences.
