Organized by the Scientific Activities Coordination Office, an online informational event about TÜBİTAK ARDEB programs was held. In her opening speech, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer, emphasized that the ARDEB program offers an important career opportunity for researchers, and she shared examples from her own academic experiences, wishing for a productive event.
TÜBİTAK Scientific Programs Chief Expert, Dr. Selin Bora Melik, provided detailed information about the main strategies of the ARDEB program, including periodical, non-periodical, and special cal programs. Dr. Melik mentioned that over 55,000 applications were received between 2019-2023 and added that support for doctoral students has been increased. She also highlighted that a doctoral student can take part as a project leader in one project and as a bursary recipient in another.
Dr. Melik noted that 18 patents were obtained in the past six years under the 1005 National New Ideas Program, and the 1001 Program received the highest number of applications. She also added that special cals were made for extraordinary situations such as earthquakes.
Dr. Melik touched upon national and international collaborations, stating that under the 1071 Program, collaborations were established with 102 different institutions from 72 countries. At the end of the event, the university's position and contributions to TÜBİTAK-supported projects were highlighted.
