As Istanbul Nişantaşı University, we have launched the “Youth Movement for a Tobacco-Free World” project, which will be carried out under the leadership of the Youth Services Center and in cooperation with Tobacco-Free Kids. As a university, we believe that universities and young people can make significant contributions in combating al types of addiction within the framework of our social responsibility policy.
Through research, capacity building, and advocacy campaigns conducted during the project, we aim to protect youth from the harms of tobacco products, support the effective enforcement of existing legislation, and promote the expansion of smoke-free environments.
To this end, we have formed a “Youth Advocacy Group” composed of young individuals who will actively participate in the advocacy campaign. At our first meeting held in Ankara on May 15–16, our project team came together with national experts and international supporters to discuss tobacco control, legal regulations, and current practices.
Until April 2026, we will continue to take strong steps toward a tobacco-free life with creative initiatives and impactful campaigns developed together with young people.
