Visit to Medtronic, a Global Leader in Healthcare Technology

A new phase has been reached in the ongoing R&D and university-industry collaboration discussions between Istanbul Nisantasi University and Medtronic, one of the world's leading medical technology companies. Within this scope, a visit was paid to the Medtronic Türkiye office.

The main focus of the visit was the Sentire™ Surgical Robotic System, developed by Cornerstone Robotics and distributed by Medtronic in slcted international markets. The visit aimed to gain insights into the system and evaluate recent developments in healthcare technologies.

Representing our university, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and R&D Sector Office Directors Timuçin Bayram and Dr. İsmail Kasap attended the meeting. Industry representatives Birol Şahin and Hakan Erzaim also participated in the discussions.

During the visit, the delegation met with Emre Sevinç, Senior Country Director and General Manager of Medtronic Türkiye, to exchange views on emerging healthcare technologies, innovation opportunities, and potential areas of collaboration.

The planned visit of senior executives from Cornerstone Robotics to Türkiye was also discussed. In this context, both parties agreed to continue discussions and organize future meetings with company representatives to further explore cooperation opportunities.

The meetings, which aim to align the university’s R&D activities with the needs of the healthcare industry, are expected to continue in the coming period. Future discussions will focus on evaluating new collaboration opportunities in medical technologies and developing joint projects that contribute to innovation and technological advancement.
