Visit to Leading Technology Company Erkan CNC: R&D and Project Development Processes Discussed

Collaboration opportunities were evaluated with Erkan CNC, a company that provides CNC machine tools and engineering solutions to industries such as machining, mass production, mold manufacturing, aerospace, and defense in Türkiye.

Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and R&D Sector Office Directors Timuçin Bayram and Dr. İsmail Kasap, together with industry representatives Birol Şahin and Hakan Erzaim, visited Erkan CNC.

During the meeting with Sedat Akgün, Board Member of Erkan CNC, information was shared about the company’s operations and areas of expertise. The discussions focused on strengthening university-industry collaboration, evaluating R&D projects in line with industry needs, and identifying potential areas for joint initiatives.

In addition, detailed information was provided regarding the company’s activities and projects carried out within its investment grp. Presentations were delivered on projects currently being conducted by the R&D Sector Office, with particular emphasis on connecting these projects with potential investors and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting also addressed the advancement of project development processes and ways to support ongoing discussions with investors through concrete action plans. In this context, the parties agreed to organize a follow-up meeting whr the projects would be examined in greater detail.

Through its ongoing engagements with industry representatives, the R&D Sector Office of Istanbul Nisantasi University continues to strengthen university-industry interaction and explore opportunities for transforming research and development activities into practical applications.
