Istanbul Nişantaşı University Visits TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute 3D Center of Excellence: Two Strategic Collaboration Meetings and Laboratory Inspections Conducted

The R&D Sector Office delegation of Istanbul Nişantaşı University paid an official visit to the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) Materials Institute 3D Center of Excellence to strengthen inter-institutional scientific collaborations, integrate research infrastructures into joint projects, and foster value-added production through research and innovation.

Research Infrastructure and Scientific Collaboration Discussed

During the first phase of the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Ersin Üresin, Vice President of Materials and Process Technologies at TÜBİTAK MAM, together with Associate Professor Dr. Özgen Ercan, Vice President of Climate and Life Sciences, and Associate Professor Dr. Abit Balın, Director of Strategy and Project Management.

The meeting included a comprehensive presentation of Istanbul Nişantaşı University's research infrastructure, laboratory capabilities, and ongoing scientific studies. Potential collaborative projects and sustainable partnership models combining the University's academic strengths with TÜBİTAK MAM's advanced research infrastructure were extensively discussed.

Roadmap Established for Joint R&D Projects

The second phase of the visit focused on technical and academic field studies through a comprehensive tour of the 3D Center of Excellence laboratories.

The delegation was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Cihat Taşaltın, an expert in nanotechnology, surface physics, photonics, and chemical sensors, and Senior Chief Researcher Associate Professor Dr. İlke Gürol.

Following the laboratory inspections, a second strategic meeting was held to evaluate the R&D production capabilities and technological infrastructures of both institutions. The parties exchanged comprehensive scientific views on concrete collaborative project opportunities and reached a mutual agreement to advance cooperation. It was jointly decided to initiate detailed technical studies under a confidentiality agreement as the next step toward implementing the identified projects.
