Scientific Projects Coordination Office opened

Scientific Projects Coordination Office of Nişantaşı University, opened in order to support scientific projects and R&D studies of the students and academicians also provides the youth to have a chance to find any jobs by improving their languages in Europe thanks to European Voluntary Service (EVS).

Firstly, R&D and Innovation capacity of our universities need to be enhanced in order to develop innovative studies we encounter in global competition experienced in today’s age of internet. Fundamental vision of Scientific Projects Coordination Office of Nişantaşı University established on the basis of this opinion is to disseminate R&D project culture among academicians, and the office aims to enable the university to occupy the top point in success indexes. Project Office was established to help follow national and international research and support resources and provide required scientific and technical support to the researchers at each stage of the project (preparation, application, finalization, patent and commercialization).

In scope of the Project Office, the students have a chance to work abroad by participating in voluntary social responsibility projects in a European country or any city of a European Country for a duration varying from 2 months to 12 months thanks to European Voluntary Service, which is another support for their careers. In the forthcoming days, 90 students are going to 5 different countries in order that they can both improve their languages and experience cultural interaction at the highest level.

Assistant Professor Zeynep Birsu Çinçin, the Coordinator of Project Office of Nişantaşı University, said they are going to carry out studies that will enable Turkey to take place in technologic and scientific competition increasing day by day all around the world thanks to this office. Assistant Professor Zeynep Birsu Çinçin also stated, “Now scientific achievements are related to the number of scientific projects not only to scientific publications. In this sense, we have opened a project office in order to support both academicians’ and students’ R&D projects in technic and academic terms. The aim of our project office is to not only provide the required incentive but also indicate the academicians and students which national and international projects they can apply to in consideration with their needs, and maintain it”.

Instructor Fatih Okumuş, Nişantaşı University, shared detailed information about European Voluntary Service and said, “The youth work at social responsibility projects voluntarily at a European country or any city of a European Country for a duration varying from 2 months to 12 months in scope of the program. We have also applied for a project regarding this. The name of our project is Cultural Bonds. In scope of this project we are going to send 90 students to 5 different countries. They are going to engage in voluntary work that will be socially beneficial in terms of social responsibility at the institutions located in the countries they go to. Their all expenses from visa costs to their needs during the time they spend there are going to be met. Also, they are going to get some pocket money. It is not compulsory to be a student to apply to this program, but enough to be between 17 and 30 years old”.
