IEEE 5G Summit-İstanbul Held by the Support of Nişantaşı University on 13-14 June
IEEE 5G Summit- İstanbul was held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. İlhami Çolak, the Dean of Engineering and Architecture Faculty and in cooperation with Nişantaşı University.
International IEEE 5G Summit was organized jointly by Nişantaşı University, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Gazi University was held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Şeref Sarıoğlu (Gazi Univesity), Prof. Dr. İlhami Çolak (Nişantaşı University), and Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Karaçuha (ITU) at ITU Süleyman Demirel Congress Center on 13-14 June 2019. Numerous speakers from countries such as Poland, Portugal, America, England, China, Finland, Japan, Morocco, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium gave information about 5G studies and developing technologies in their countries at IEEE 5G Summit.
Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said, “The existence of political independence was not possible before without economic independence. Now, I can honestly say that economic independence cannot exist without technologic independence.”
Havelsan, Platin sponsor of IEEE 5G Summit participated in the summit with its general directorate. Ahmet Hamdi ATALAY, General Director of Havelsan, Mustafa Şenol, the Vice President of the Executive Board and Turkish and foreign committee visited Nişantaşı University on the very first day of the assembly. Havelsan authorities who would like to see air traffic control simulators Nişantaşı University especially bought from Havelsan expressed that they feel so pleased to see their products are being used in education and instruction at Nişantaşı University and there are only three air traffic control laboratories in Turkey. Furthermore, he exclaimed that they were really influenced by NISHNOVA Campus of Nişantaşı University and suggested that to be indicated as an example campus.
