March 8 on Campus from Nişantaşı University
"March 8 on Campus" event was organized on March 8, International Women's Day by Nişantaşı University, with the initiative and contributions of Nişantaşı University Sociology Department and with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO Turkey National Commission. The documentary film "Woman in History and Today", which was written and directed by Faculty Member of Sociology Department Dr. Ahmet Umut Hacıfevzioğlu and prepared with the supports and contributions of the sociology and history department faculty members and sociology department students, was displayed in the event. After the display, which received great appreciation from the audience, with the attendance of our university's International Management Director and Faculty Member of Department of Economics Prof. Dr. Elif Çepni, Head of Sociology Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Melis Yelsalı Parmaksız and Head of History Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birsen Talay Keşoğlu, a panel called "Gender Equality" was held. In the panel, the demands expressed by the women from the Ottoman to the Republic in the field of social and political rights and their efforts in this direction, importance of existence of women in many fields such as economy, business life, university, education, family and politics and importance of ensuring gender equality in society, was focused.
